Who we are

Globetrekkers was born during the COVID-19 crisis when people needed fresh air, movement, and human connection more than ever before. What began as a series of small local treks soon grew into a thriving outdoor community.

The turning point came when our founder, Shaji P. Mathew, completed formal mountaineering training and recognized the need to organize trekking and adventure activities in a more structured, scientific, and responsible manner. This vision laid the foundation for the Globetrekkers movement we know today.
Since then, hundreds of people from different backgrounds have joined our journeys. We have crossed mountains, forests, villages, and international borders while building friendships, confidence, resilience, and a love for nature.

                              What Makes Us Different

Seniors Matter
Many adventure groups focus primarily on younger participants. We chose a different path. Globetrekkers has always welcomed senior citizens and encouraged them to rediscover their strength through walking and trekking. We believe age should never be a barrier to adventure.

Children Matter
We conduct outdoor camps and adventure programs for children because we believe awareness, confidence, leadership, and environmental responsibility are best learned in nature rather than classrooms alone.

Women Matter
We strive to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where women can confidently participate in trekking and outdoor activities.

Nature Matters
We believe the outdoors is not merely a destination but a powerful tool for healing and wellbeing. Our philosophy embraces the concept of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku)—immersing oneself in nature to improve physical health, mental wellness, and emotional balance.
